BCTC_CallForArt_Instagram.jpg

In Spring of 2021, screen monitors will be installed at the BCTC, the newly remodeled Brooklyn Center Transit Center just off of Xerxes and Bass Lake Rd.  These monitors, as well the City of Brooklyn Center’s other digital platforms, will showcase the powerful stories and identities of our diverse and thriving city.  If you are interested in participating in this project, please see the guidelines below for submission:

  • Art should respond to one or more of the following prompts:
    • What makes you proud to be a part of the Brooklyn Center community?
    • How can we keep ourselves and each other safe during the pandemic?
    • What does belonging to a community feel/look like?

  • Media requirements:
    • Artwork can be done in any media, as long as it does not include sound. Traditional media artworks should be photographed digitally in order to be submitted.
    • Digital images should be 72ppi or greater to ensure proper resolution on monitors.
    • File formats accepted are PDF, JPEG, and MP4.

  • Work displayed by Metro Transit must follow these guidelines:
    • Must be family-friendly
    • Cannot be political in nature
    • Cannot be religious in nature
    • Cannot support a business or service

Submit work by Friday, October 23rd

All work will be approved by a panel of local stakeholders. Please email
chloe.cotherman@gmail.com if you’d like to be involved in the artwork selection process.
